Our insights inform strategy, campaigns, and long-term programme design, grounding our work in evidence, cultural context, and lived experience. /p h3Purpose of the Role: /h3 pThe Audience Segmentation Public Opinion Research Consultant will lead the delivery of OCH’s flagship audience segmentation study in Italy. /p pThis multi-phase research project will combine: /p ul liExploratory qualitative research /li liA national quantitative survey and segmentation analysis /li liA final qualitative profiling phase /li /ul pThe study will generate a robust, evidence-based understanding of the values, motivations, and narratives shaping Italian society. These insights will identify priority audiences and inform the campaigns and strategies of OCH’s new Italy programme. /p pThis is a senior, delivery-focused role. The consultant will act as the technical and analytical lead, ensuring methodological rigour, contextual relevance, and strategic usefulness across all phases of the research. The role will operate under the guidance of OCH Global Research Services and in close collaboration with the local country team. /p h3Key Responsibilities: /h3 h31. Project Set-up Planning /h3 ul liDevelop the overall project timeline and budget /li liProduce detailed workplans for each phase and milestone /li liCoordinate tasks and contributions across the project team /li liSelect, contract,



and manage external research partners /li liAppoint and manage advisors where appropriate /li liConduct literature reviews and exploratory sessions to inform primary research /li /ul h32. Research Design, Planning Technical Leadership /h3 ul liLead the research from inception, including scoping, kick-off, and planning /li liAct as technical lead, ensuring methodological integrity and analytical coherence /li liDesign and oversee data collection tools, including: ul liA values-based national survey questionnaire tailored to the Italian context /li liQualitative instruments such as interview and focus group guides /li /ul /li liMake and document methodological decisions on sampling, instruments, and analytical framing, balancing: ul liOCH research standards /li liPolitical, cultural, and practical realities /li liProject scope, timelines, and resources /li /ul /li liProvide technical oversight of external research agencies, including review of tools, translations, and fieldwork protocols /li liEnsure learning from each phase informs subsequent stages /li liAttend selected focus groups or interviews to support quality control and contextual understanding /li /ul h33. Analysis, Interpretation Sense-Making /h3 ul liAct as lead analyst and sense-maker across qualitative and quantitative components /li liDefine analytical priorities for quantitative analysis, including: ul liDescriptive analysis and index construction /li liCluster or segmentation analysis /li /ul /li liAssess the robustness and strategic usefulness of segmentation outputs /li liIntegrate qualitative and quantitative findings into clear audience segments, narratives, and personas /li /ul h34. Outputs Deliverables /h3 ul liLead the design and development of all research outputs /li liWork closely with OCH colleagues to identify strategic implications and engagement opportunities /li liSupport briefings, workshops,



and sense-making sessions with internal and external stakeholders /li liCollaborate with designers on data visualisation and storytelling, ensuring analytical accuracy and narrative clarity /li /ul h35. Collaboration, Quality Assurance Organisational Learning /h3 ul liCollaborate closely with OCH global and local research and strategy teams /li liEnsure alignment with OCH research standards /li liDocument key analytical decisions and learnings to support organisational memory /li liMaintain proactive communication on timelines, risks, and dependencies /li /ul h3Ways of Working: /h3 ul liThe consultant will serve as the senior expert voice on methodology, contextualisation, and insight development /li liClose collaboration with OCH global and Italy-based teams is essential /li liAll deliverables will follow OCH templates, standards, and review processes /li liRegular check-ins, working sessions, and shared documentation will ensure transparency and alignment /li /ul h3Experience Qualifications: /h3 h3Essential: /h3 ul li7+ years’ experience in applied qualitative and/or mixed-methods research /li liProven experience delivering segmentation or strategic insight projects /li liStrong expertise in designing research instruments for diverse Italian populations /li liExcellent analytical and synthesis skills across qualitative and quantitative data /li liDemonstrated ability to translate research into clear, actionable strategic insights /li liDeep understanding of Italian political, cultural, linguistic, and social dynamics /li liExperience working with NGOs, research firms, academia, or public institutions /li liHigh level of autonomy, reliability, and professional judgement /li liFull professional proficiency in Italian and English (written and spoken) /li /ul h3Desirable: /h3 ul liExperience with values-based or psychographic segmentation /li liFamiliarity with cluster-based analytical approaches /li liInterest in climate, environment, or public values research /li /ul h3Personal Attributes: /h3 ul liStructured, analytical thinker who can turn complexity into clarity /li liStrong communicator, able to tailor insights to different audiences /li liCulturally and politically sensitive /li liCollaborative, adaptive, and solutions-oriented /li liCurious, reflective, and committed to evidence-based work /li /ul /p #J-18808-Ljbffr
