We’re looking for a Research Engineer with at least 3 years of experience and a background in Mathematical Engineering (or a closely related field) to join our team. The role focuses on the development, validation, and optimisation of mathematically complex algorithms, ensuring numerical correctness and high-performance implementation across our software stack.
The role combines software and algorithms development, giving you the opportunity to work across R&D; and software infrastructure.
What You’ll Do
You will develop, review, and optimise mathematically complex algorithms that power our space awareness platform, ensuring both numerical correctness and production-grade performance. You will work closely with space engineers to improve computational efficiency, and software engineers to streamline data processing pipelines, and provide expert technical review of algorithmic implementations.
Responsibilities
- Implementing complex mathematical models and algorithms (e.g. interpolators, covariance generation, Kalman filter)
- Reviewing the numerical implementations by space engineers across multiple projects and algorithms
- Data structuring (e.g. pre-building datasets) and working on data quality and preprocessing
- Continuously optimising code to improve performance and minimise latency
