We are currently looking for a Software Engineer to join the team in Rome.
We are seeking a Software Engineer with a passion for developing cutting‑edge software. In this role, you will contribute to improving our software application that monitors the end‑to‑end operational workflow within the Ground Segment of satellite missions.
This application is critical to the daily operations of various Earth observation missions, ensuring efficient ground‑segment production. By joining our team, you will play a key role in advancing technologies that help monitor and protect the health of our planet.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the team to design, develop, test, and document high‑quality code.
- Establish and maintain the software build, testing, and documentation infrastructure for mission‑critical projects.
- Provide constructive feedback through code reviews, supporting and mentoring team members when necessary.
- Effectively communicate solutions, including technical aspects, to customers and stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science,
Information Engineering, or equivalent with hands‑on experience in software development.
- At least 5 years of practical experience in software development, preferably in requirements‑driven projects.
- Strong proficiency in Python; additional familiarity with technologies such as Django, Angular and Grafana is considered a plus.
- Knowledge of relational databases such as PostgreSQL or similar.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD tools (e.g., GitLab, Jenkins).
- Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and hardware virtualization (VMs).
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
- Fluent English; knowledge of Italian is preferred.
- Availability to work on‑site at least 2‑3 days per week (remote work is possible on the remaining days).
