Description Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Software Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Genoa, Italy. Accountabilities Analysis of Requirements at System/Sub System/Product/Component levelSW architecture definition Definition, Analysis, Allocation and Management of Requirements inside the Detailed Design Definition of the Work Breakdown Structure for new design/development activities Coordination and management of design/development packages Management of technical discussions and development activities with external suppliers Support to troubleshooting and on-field testing Required Skills/Knowledge Good knowledge of C language Good knowledge of System OnChip/microprocessor based architectures Basic knowledge of embedded programming and Real Time environments Basic knowledge of SW Engineering Ability to understand a schematic diagram Basic knowledge of debugging techniques Good knowledge and use of MS Office tools (Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio)Nice to have: knowledge of CORTEX A9 processor Ability to work within a teamSW architecture definition/understandingSW implementation according to requirements and architectureSW debugging and testSW documentation Software design and testing activities Knowledge and use of Intel/Altera development system (Quartus)Knowledge and use of Xilinx development system Education/Qualifications Software Engineering Degree or equivalent technical background.
