The National Field Sales Manager at Ferrero leads and coordinates field sales agencies to drive brand performance and ensure perfect store execution across the territory. Reporting to both the country sales manager and trade marketing manager in a matrix structure, this role develops field teams following formal people processes and line manager standards. You will manage the performance of outsourced agencies, including PFM, to achieve national sales targets and improve retail execution. The position is based in Alba, Trento - Piemonte, Italy, and requires close collaboration with the trade marketing function. You will report to the country sales manager and trade marketing manager in a matrix structure. You will ensure perfect store execution and product availability for all Ferrero brands at retail. You will develop and coach field sales teams following established people processes and line manager standards. You will manage performance of outsourced agencies, including PFM, to meet agreed sales targets. You will collaborate with the trade marketing manager to plan and execute national promotional campaigns. You will monitor field sales results and provide insights to optimize agency effectiveness continuously. You will support product launches and promotional activities at key retail locations within the region. You will maintain strong relationships with retail customers and agency partners to ensure compliance. You will ensure all field activities comply with Ferrero's sales policies and operational guidelines. You will align agency performance with the country sales strategy and trade marketing plans.
You will drive field sales execution to achieve national volume and distribution targets for Ferrero. You will ensure perfect store standards are met across all key accounts and retail formats. You will develop field team capabilities through coaching, feedback, and adherence to people processes. You will evaluate outsourced agency performance, including PFM, and recommend improvements to the country sales manager. You will coordinate with trade marketing on in-store activations, displays, and promotional material deployment. You will analyze field sales data and agency results to identify growth opportunities and risks. You will manage relationships with retail chains and independent stores to maximize Ferrero product presence. You will uphold Ferrero's brand standards and sales policies in all field activities and interactions. You will participate in monthly business reviews with the country sales manager and trade marketing manager. Requirements Proven experience managing field sales agencies and outsourced partners in a national territory. Experience reporting to both a country sales manager and a trade marketing manager in a matrix structure. Track record of ensuring perfect store execution in a fast-moving consumer goods environment. Experience developing and coaching field sales teams using formal people processes and line manager standards. Demonstrated ability to manage performance of outsourced agencies, including PFM, to achieve sales targets. Strong understanding of trade marketing principles and national sales campaign planning and execution. Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills for cross-functional collaboration with trade marketing.
Ability to work within structured people processes and comply with line manager standards consistently. Experience in a matrix reporting structure with dual accountability to the country sales and trade marketing managers. Demonstrated success in managing outsourced field sales agencies and PFM performance within a national territory. Nice to have Experience with PFM (Performance Field Management) or similar outsourced agency models in field sales. Background in the food and confectionery industry, ideally Ferrero or a comparable company. Familiarity with the Italian retail and trade marketing landscape and key accounts. Previous exposure to matrix reporting structures involving country sales and trade marketing functions. Experience working in the confectionery or fast-moving consumer goods sector with a focus on field sales. Skills & Tools Proficiency in field sales management and outsourced agency performance tracking and reporting. Experience with formal people processes and performance management frameworks for field teams. Strong skills in sales reporting and data analysis to drive agency performance improvements. Ability to coach and develop field teams using structured people processes and standards. Knowledge of trade marketing and perfect store execution methodologies in a retail environment. Familiarity with outsourced agency management and PFM performance models and best practices. Proficiency in sales reporting dashboards and field performance metrics used in agency management.
