In the role of Assistant Financial Controller at Belmond Sicily, you will play a crucial part within the Finance department, supporting the Financial Controller in the management and oversight of Grand Hotel Timeo and Villa Sant'Andrea financial operations. Primary Responsibilities
- Assisting the Financial Controller in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Supporting budget management and forecasting activities, analyzing variances, and providing recommendations
- Overseeing and ensuring the accuracy of Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes
- Collaborating on general ledger management, ensuring the correct recording of financial transactions
- Participating in month-end and year-end closing procedures, including account reconciliations and balance sheet analysis
- Assisting in the implementation and maintenance of internal controls to safeguard hotel assets
- Preparing financial analyses and providing support to various departments for strategic decision-making
- Ensuring compliance with company financial policies,
as well as local and international regulations
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
- Proven experience (at least 2-3 years) in a financial role, preferably within the luxury hospitality sector
- Solid understanding of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS) and financial control procedures
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and numerical skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, and familiarity with financial management systems (PMS/ERP)
- Fluent in Italian and English (both written and spoken)
- Highly detail-oriented, organized, and capable of handling confidential information with utmost discretion
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a dynamic team
