In this role you will design and verify sub‑micron ASIC/SoC blocks for coherent optical transmission systems, helping extend reach and bandwidth while reducing power and size. You’ll work within the Optics Subsystems SoC team to architect and implement DSP‑driven ASICs for optical modules and collaborate across international teams. You’ll tackle challenging problems in high‑performance signal processing, verification, and hardware‑software integration in a fast‑evolving field. This position offers autonomy, cross‑functional collaboration, and opportunities to shape next‑generation transmission technology.

Architect, specify, and test ASICs for optical modules in coherent transmission systems
Implement RTL to gate‑level netlist synthesis and collaborate with design/verification teams
Apply DSP techniques for modulation, equalization, and error correction in optical channels
Perform formal verification (LEC, CDC, PDV) and utilize hardware emulators
Develop firmware interfaces and drivers for design blocks (C/C++, APIs)
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams across international Nokia locations
Drive power and performance optimization using latest CMOS nodes and power analysis tools
Responsabilità
Strong knowledge of DSP theory and algorithms (modulation formats, equalization, error correction coding)
Strong experience in ASIC/FPGA design and verification with Synopsys, Mentor, Cadence
HDL skills: VHDL, Verilog, SystemVerilog; scripting: TCL, Python xbvzest
Proven experience in Formal Verification and hardware emulation
Basic firmware development understanding (C/C++, drivers, APIs)
Fluent written and spoken English; collaborative mindset with international partners
