Role Description
The successful candidate will develop X-ray microtomography applied to medicine to realize 3D virtual histology. This is an excellent opportunity to learn and apply multidisciplinary skills in 3D imaging, data analysis, and cutting-edge science. Contract duration: 12 months. Gross Salary: € 28.486/year. On top, the position foresees full health insurance and pension contribution s. Deadline for application: August 27.th, at 12.00 CETS




The research activity will be focused on the critical aspects of the development and implementation of advanced techniques for the acquisition, reconstruction and analysis of tomographic X-ray images applied to the study of human tumor biopsy samples. The analysis will concern some types of brain tumors, of which the 3D morphological characterization will be carried out on the micrometric scales to create a digital "virtual histology" of the samples. Radiographic techniques sensitive to both absorption and refraction of X-rays will be used; the processing and analysis of the images will use advanced machine learning methodologies. The research activity will be carried out in collaboration with academic partners, research centers and industries.
Eligible candidates must hold PhD in disciplines like Physics, Engineering, Mathematics, Materials Science, Informatics, Biology or equivalents.
