Education & Experience
- Valid driver's license required
- Minimum of 5 years of professional construction cost estimating experience
- New construction
- Renovations
- Demolition
- Maintenance
- Construction contract modifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Cost Estimating, Quantity Surveying, Business, Economics, or a related field preferred
- Equivalent combination of education, technical training, and demonstrated construction estimating experience will be considered
- Certified Cost Professional (CCP) , Tri-Service Cost Consultant , or equivalent construction cost estimating certification preferred
- Previous experience in design and/or construction (3–5 years) is highly desirable
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Thorough knowledge of construction estimating principles, practices, and methodologies
- Experience preparing conceptual, parametric, detailed, comparative, and Independent Government Estimates (IGEs)
- Knowledge of DoD, DON, and NAVFAC cost estimating policies and procedures
- Understanding of military construction (MILCON) and shore facility projects
- Ability to evaluate labor, material, equipment, subcontractor, and supplier pricing
- Knowledge of construction sequencing, constructability, and market conditions
- Ability to prepare detailed quantity take-offs and Basis of Estimate documentation
- Experience analyzing contractor proposals and supporting negotiations
- Familiarity with Uniformat II, MasterFormat, and Work Breakdown Structures (WBS)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with engineers, architects, project managers, contractors, and government personnel
- Proficiency with Microsoft
