Taylor Hopkinson is supporting an international IPP in the recruitment of a Project Manager to oversee the delivery of utility-scale BESS projects across Italy.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the full construction lifecycle of BESS projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. This role requires regular travel to project sites, primarily located in Southern Italy.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the execution of utility-scale BESS projects from Notice to Proceed through commissioning and handover.
- Coordinate and manage EPC contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and other project stakeholders.
- Monitor project schedules, budgets, quality, and HSE performance, ensuring project objectives are achieved.
- Oversee site activities and conduct regular visits to construction sites to monitor progress and resolve technical or operational issues.
- Manage contractual obligations, project risks, and change orders throughout the construction phase.
- Ensure compliance with Italian regulations, grid connection requirements, and company standards.
- Coordinate with internal engineering, development, procurement, and operations teams to ensure smooth project execution.
- Support project commissioning, testing, energisation, and final project close-out.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Proven experience managing the construction of utility-scale renewable energy or BESS projects.
- Strong experience with HV electrical infrastructure and grid connection activities.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex construction projects involving multiple contractors and stakeholders.
- Good understanding of HSE requirements and construction best practices.
- Willingness to travel regularly to project sites across Southern Italy.
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
