At present we are recruiting across the Barwon Precinct - Barwon Prison, Marngoneet Correctional Centre (Karreenga) and Western Plains Correctional Centre.
The role
As a prison officer, you play a crucial part in a person's rehabilitation journey and ensure the safety and security of the facility.
Prison officers supervise daily activities, support positive behaviour, and respond to incidents to ensure the safe operation of the prison.
You will be challenged, but your resilience and dedication will help you thrive.
What we're looking for
We're seeking good communicators who approach each day with a positive mindset and a belief that people have the capacity to change.
There are no specific professional background or qualifications needed for the role. It's your life experience that counts in this job.

What's in it for you
Earn up to $93,938 with a base salary of $65,373 plus penalty rates and overtime

Complete a Certificate III in Correctional Practice (Adult Custodial)

New prison officers are now eligible for a premio of up to $8,000. Six months after commencing, you will receive a payment of $4,000.
