An exciting opportunity exists for a talented IT System Engineer to join our newly created luxury travel brand Explora Journeys. This role is based in our office in Naples.
IT System Engineer with 3+ years of experience, genuinely passionate about well managed and resilient systems, monitoring, and operational continuity. The person will be hands-on across our AWS and Azure environments daily, managing cloud infrastructure, ensuring continuous production, and owning the reliability of our systems end to end.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Handle day‐to‐day cloud operations including resource management, configuration changes, patch coordination, and capacity monitoring, ensuring infrastructure remains healthy, documented, and aligned with operational standard
- Maintain and govern Azure RBAC policies across both application and user scopes,
ensuring access is correctly assigned, regularly reviewed, and aligned with least‐privilege principles
- Own and continuously improve the observability stack: define meaningful metrics, alerts, and dashboards that reflect real system behavior across all layers
- Design, maintain, and regularly test Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plans, ensuring the organization is genuinely prepared, not just documented
- Manage and validate backup strategies across cloud environments, ensuring recoverability is verified through regular restore tests, not assumed
- Contribute to incident management and post‐incident reviews, driving systemic corrective actions to completion
QUALIFICATIONS (skills, competencies, experience)
- Cloud infrastructure: Hands‐on experience operating cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure (compute, storage, networking, and managed services). The candidate is expected to navi
