As Associate Engineering Manager, you lead a Consumer Wealth squad to help millions save, invest, and grow their money. You focus on team success, delivery, and people growth, translating product goals into a clear technical roadmap. You partner with product, design, and other engineers to align priorities and ensure reliable execution of ambitious projects. You influence architecture and technical decisions, while maintaining high team morale in a fast-paced, regulated fintech environment. - Lead and grow a 3–5 engineer squad, fostering technical excellence, accountability, and morale.
- Invest in team members through regular feedback, performance reviews, and growth opportunities.
- Translate product and business goals into a clear,
predictable technical roadmap and optimize agile workflows.
- Unblock the team and ensure delivery of ambitious features with end-to-end ownership.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, and other Engineering Managers to align priorities and standards.
- Communicate team progress, risks, and blockers to leadership in business terms.
- Partner with senior technical leads on architecture discussions and ensure sound technical decisions.
- 5+ years in backend engineering with at least 2+ years in squad management in a fast-paced, product-driven environment
- Strong empathy and coaching skills with a proven mentoring track record
- Experience in distributed systems and API design; ability to guide robust, scalable services
- Proven delivery ownership with Agile experience and data-driven improvement of velocity and quality
- Clear, effective English communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders
