Both solution and mechanochemical synthetic methods will be employed, and the resulting materials will be fully characterised in the solid state by single crystal and powder X-ray diffraction,
thermal analysis, and spectroscopic techniques. In details: Design of experiments via the Cambridge Structural Database (CSD). Synthesis of co-crystals and metal complexes of antibiotics via mechanochemical methods, slurry, and solution synthesis. Analysis of the materials thus obtained by X-ray diffraction. Structural determination via single crystal X-ray or powder X-ray diffraction. Physicochemical characterisation by thermal analysis (DSC, TGA) and spectroscopic techniques (IR, UV-Vis).
