JOB PURPOSE
Working in partnership with Design and Sourcing to manage the raw materials development and procurement according to the design aesthetics guidelines and budget collection.
Acting as an ambassador for Burberry, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation and collaboration and operate as true technical specialists with internal teams and vendors.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Building and maintaining a close working partnership with Design. Acting as the technical partner for design, attending raw material meetings, providing feedback on technical feasibility, brainstorming ideas and solutions to ensure the design vision is translated into product
- Responsible for building and maintaining effective working relationships with vendors, developing a strong working knowledge of vendor capability and availability to meet demands
- Researchand development of new raw material concepts and technologiesaccording to brief:
- Samples
- Colourways
- Collaboration with mills and follow up on new designs/materials to ensure correct execution
- In conjunction with the Product Development and Design teams, agree and implement the raw material development critical path. Ensuring deadlines are adhered to and follow up on all development issues to resolve and drive to completion.
