Network Engineer
Are you ready to build and evolve a global enterprise network using modern and cloud-integrated technologies?
We are looking for a Network Engineer to join Oerlikon’s Global IT Infrastructure team.
Join us in Brugherio (MB, Italy) with a flexible hybrid working model.
Your Responsibilities
You will work directly on the design, deployment, and operation of a global network spanning multiple sites, data centers, and cloud environments.
- Build & Operate Networks: configure and manage enterprise network infrastructure (routing, switching, WAN, Internet edge), ensuring stable and high-performance connectivity across global sites.
- Hands-on Implementation: work with technologies such as Cisco (Catalyst, Meraki, SD-WAN), firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto), and VPN solutions, supporting both legacy and modern architectures.
- Troubleshooting: diagnose and resolve complex network issues across LAN/WAN, ISP connectivity, and hybrid cloud environments.
- Cloud Connectivity: implement and maintain connectivity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure),
including site-to-site VPNs, routing, and segmentation.
- Network Migration & Modernization: support ongoing transitions (e.g., traditional campus to Meraki / SD-based architectures), including rollout, cutover, and decommissioning activities.
- Security Enforcement: apply network security best practices (firewalls, NAT, segmentation, access control) and ensure compliance with corporate standards.
- Vendor & ISP Interaction: work directly with ISPs, hardware vendors, and partners to troubleshoot issues and implement solutions efficiently.
Your Profile
- Networking Skills: hands-on experience with Cisco routing and switching, WAN technologies, and enterprise network troubleshooting.
- Modern Networking Exposure: experience or familiarity with Meraki, SD-WAN, or network automation/virtualization.
- Security Fundamentals: working knowledge of firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto), VPNs, and segmentation.
