AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY:

Reporting to the STEAM Director, Recreation Programmer/Coordinator, Instructors are responsible for implementing a high-quality program that is stimulating and enjoyable for all participants. Instructors are responsible for the safety and well-being of participants and volunteers at all times.

Deliver high-quality, safe, and stimulating programs for all levels of participants within the assigned tier(s) below

Maintain complete vigilance while on duty and be ready to respond to any emergency situation

Provide a high level of front-line customer service, including greeting and engaging participants

Complete administrative duties in a timely manner (e.g. attendance, incident/accident reports)

Monitor the use of equipment and supplies, conduct inventory counts and re-stock as needed

Maintain a safe and tidy program space, ensuring equipment is set-up and stored appropriately

Report all concerns, accidents and incidents to immediate supervisor and take appropriate action

Maintain an understanding of department programs and services

Understand, adhere to, and enforce Corporate Policies & Procedures, Confidentiality Guidelines

Emergency Procedures and Health and Safety Standards for all participants, and staff

Attend meetings/trainings as required

Perform other duties as assigned
