SENIOR RISK ENGINEERING UNDERWRITER

Job Purpose/Role
Based in Milan and reporting to the Risk Engineering Team, you will be in charge of developing and executing the strategy for the Constructions and Corporate Client risks into the Italian market. With strong ties to the Group, you will also support the local strategy to ensure the successful achievement of the Allianz Mid Corporate targets. You will be also the contact person for agents and/or brokers working with the Risk Engineering Team.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure underwriters comply with underwriting authority, pricing and rating guidelines
Steer and control the portfolio at local level in conjunction with the Head of Engineering to drive the achievement of financial targets
Proactively liaise with functional areas to review performance of end to end underwriting life cycle
Work closely with Sales departments, Risk Consulting, Claims and other product lines to achieve key marketing strategies, including cross-selling
Ensure underwriting consistency and underwriting discipline and adherence to all corporate guidelines and authority levels,
including Rules and Principles, Underwriting Authorities, corporate governance rules and local regulatory framework
Proactively support the development and implementation of new and/or modified products
Support the acquisition of new business and retention of existing business (including agent and broker negotiations)
Communicate local business strategy externally
Key Requirements/Skills/Experience
Master's degree in Industrial, Civil, Construction or Mechanical Engineering
From 8 to 15 years of proven experience in underwriting profitable Risk Engineering for corporate and construction risks as well as Engineering Professional Firms
Proven leadership skills
Expertise in risk assessment and a firm understanding of policy administration life cycle
Sound knowledge of pricing, together with strong market analysis skills
Ideally experience in designing, developing, and implementing consistent and robust wordings
