Primary Purpose:
Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the core academic subject area assigned to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.
Serve as academic support to teachers in the implementation, monitoring, and improvement of student achievement. Performs 100% of Title 1 allowable instructional duties on a Title 1, Part A Schoolwide campus.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or training for subject and level assigned
Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of core academic subject assigned
Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
Ability to communicate effectively with students and adults
Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
Ability to speak effectively before groups of parents, students, and staff
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
Working knowledge of appropriate strategies for reducing behaviors that put students at-risk of not graduating from high school
Ability to analyze, develop, implement, and track intervention plans and strategies
Knowledge of and the ability to analyze and interpret data
Experience:
Minimum of three years teaching experience in an elementary or secondary school
