Purpose of the position: As Drilling Trainer, you will respond to the Head of Operation Coordination, Methods and KPI and be part of the Business Line Drilling Offshore within the operations department. You will be responsible for designing, delivering, and evaluating theoretical and practical training programs for drilling personnel, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and technical competence standards in conjunction and under the supervision and guidance of the Saipem Drilling Training Centre
How can you support us? Here below your responsibilities:
- Course Preparation and Delivery:
- Identify and analyse training needs to develop customised training programmes.
- Design tailored learning activities to familiarise personnel with drilling and well control practices and equipment.
- Deliver classroom sessions and hands-on training using simulators and rigs.
- Competency Assessment
- Analyse crew technical skills and monitor professional development.
- Use evaluation forms and reports to track progress and identify improvement areas.
- On-Site Mentoring:
- Supervise rig familiarisation and pre-spud phases.
- Provide operational support during emergencies and well control situations.
- Documentation and Compliance
- Ensure adherence to HSE, ISM, ISPS, MLC 2006 procedures and safety regulations.
- Continuous Improvement
- Achieve and maintain IWCF certifications as Instructor/Assessor.
- Integrate new technologies and best practices into training programmes.
What are we looking for?
- Education: Technical diploma or degree (engineering/geology/petroleum).
- Experience: Minimum 3 years in drilling industry, including field experience.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication, leadership, and ability to manage multicultural teams. Attitude for public speaking, teaching and knowledge transfer.
- Languages: Fluent English and Italian; additional languages preferred.
- Digital competencies: Good knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite as a mandatory requirement. Experience with drilling and well control simulators as a substantial plus. Familiarity with Learning Management Systems as a plus.
- Certifications: IWCF Well Control – candidate level – as a mandatory requirement. IWCF Well Control – instructor/assessor accreditation – as a substantial plus.
What else should you know? You will have the opportunity to travel abroad based on the projects you will work for and within the drilling site assigned. What Can We Offer To You
