With group turnover exceeding 1.5bn and a strong pipeline of secured projects over the next three years, they continue to expand within the mission-critical construction sector. Due to ongoing growth, they are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join the project delivery team on a major data centre development in Milan, Italy.

The Mechanical

Engineer will support the delivery of complex mechanical systems on a large-scale, mission-critical data centre project, ensuring installations are completed safely, on programme, and to the highest quality standards.Support the installation, inspection, and commissioning of mechanical systems including HVAC, chilled water, pipework, ductwork, and fire protection systems. Review mechanical drawings, specifications, and technical submittals for compliance and constructability. Coordinate mechanical works with CSA and electrical teams to ensure seamless system integration.

Monitor site progress and track mechanical activities against project milestones. Participate in system walk-downs, pressure testing, flushing, balancing, and commissioning activities. Ensure compliance with project specifications, Italian regulations, and relevant industry standards.

Maintain accurate documentation including test packs, commissioning records, and as-built drawings.

Promote

Health & Safety best practices across all mechanical activities on site.Degree or trade qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. Minimum of 3–5 years' experience delivering mechanical works on large-scale construction projects. Previous experience on data centre, pharmaceutical, or other mission-critical projects is highly desirable.

Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, chilled water systems, pumps, CRAC/CRAH units, and mechanical commissioning processes. Proven experience coordinating subcontractors and managing works in line with programme schedules.
