As manager of the day to day local HRO activities for his client(s), the Payroll Senior Manager has following business responsibilities:
Act as the main HRO interface for internal and external contacts (AMO (Team) Managers, Social Law Advisors and client representatives)
Ensure payroll processes are performed in due time and validate payroll before payment
Provide leadership, coaching and assistance to team members in their day-to-day activities
Handle exceptions and complex tickets regarding payroll escalated by Subject Matter Experts
Analyze and approve feasibility of change requests and provide workload estimations to the client
Conduct regular team meetings as well as regular reviews of open issues or change requests with AMO and HRO and regularly report to the HRO Manager and HRO Service Delivery Managers
Monitor tickets status to meet SLA’s and escalate whenever appropriate
Have a thorough knowledge of contract scope, coordinate and communicate issues, and initiate follow-up with the team, HRO Service Delivery Management and HRO Management
Manage the resources allocation within the team in order to guarantee the continuity of the service to the clients as contractually agreed
Participate in the development of innovative and proactive methods to assist the team in achieving performance standards
Guarantee that the team is actively following up on updates in employment law
Regularly control quality assurance (QA) on team members’ work
Participate in the development of the HRO department and to the ongoing process of improvement
For his specific client, the Payroll manager also provides support to the Service Delivery Manager by:
Preparing and participating in regular local service delivery meetings with his client
Looking for possible improvement of the services provided
**Managing operational issues**: analyze the root causes and possible remediation
Representing operational excellence towards his client and ensuring operations delivery according to the contract
Making sure all SAS70 HRO duties are respected
Preparing specific operational reports
Next to the key accountabilities related to the business, the Payroll Manager also has people management responsibilities:
Be aware of company objectives, respect them and act on them
**Show leadership**: steer and motivate people to implement the company’s strategy and values
Guarantee that the team members are following company policies and guidelines
**Guide team members through their career**:
define an individualized career development plan for each team member, taking into account the market-trends, the wishes and the capabilities of the employee
Provide ongoing feedback, and plan & conduct performance evaluations with each team member, together with the HRO Manager
Be the coach and mentor of the employee, act as the first contact point of the team to solve issues and advice the team members in their day-to-day activities
Monitor the performance of each team member and take appropriate actions if/when necessary
Provide regular feedback on the team members’ development to the HRO Manager
Technical skills
Bachelor or Master degree with an HR or Business emphasis, or equivalent
Be an expert in SAP HR, or in payroll processes and employment law
Have prior client service experience
Possess a strong client focus and sense of accountability
Good knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel )
Experience in coordinating and managing a team is a strong asset
