ph3Engineering Manager – MAAS Team /h3 pWe are hiring an bEngineering Manager /b to expand the MAAS team, responsible for delivering our Metal As A Service (MAAS) hyperscale provisioning technology. This role requires experience in high‑quality software development, high‑performance team leadership, and a deep familiarity with Linux on physical servers, Linux storage, and data center networking. /p h3Location /h3 pThis is a work‑from‑anywhere position available in EMEA or the Americas. /p h3Responsibilities /h3 ul liLead a distributed team of engineers in your time zone. /li liDevelop talent through coaching, mentoring, feedback, and career planning. /li liSet and manage expectations with other engineering teams, senior management, and external stakeholders. /li liAdvocate modern software development practices and participate in code and architectural reviews. /li liEngage with broader Canonical teams (cloud‑init, LXD, public cloud offerings), the open source community, and partners. /li liTravel to internal and external global events for 4 to 6 weeks per year. /li /ul h3Qualifications /h3 ul liBachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or related field. /li liExceptional academic record. /li liProven experience delivering software using Python, Golang, or similar languages. /li liExperience with Linux system administration (Debian or Ubuntu preferred). /li liFamiliarity with modern Linux cloud computing technologies (networking, storage, containers, K8S). /li liStrong technical aptitude for understanding complex distributed systems.
