ppConstellation Schools is seeking experienced and highly motivated Assistant Principal in Parma, Ohio dedicated to providing a superior education for all students.

/p pThe Assistant Principal provides assistance to the Principal in effectively implementing the school's education program that results in higher levels of achievement for all students and the professional development of each staff member.
/p h3Operational Objectives /h3 ul liEffectively supports the school's educational program and maximizes student learning experiences in a safe learning environment.
/li liArticulates the school's philosophy and mission and complies with all pertinent State of Ohio and Federal educational requirements, working to fulfill the mission of Constellation Community Schools.
/li liMaintains a welcoming, safe, clean, orderly, positive and effective learning environment which promotes high academic and behavioral expectations.
/li liSupports a framework for involving the entire school community in developing and supporting shared beliefs, values, mission and goals for the school and ensure continuous progress toward achieving these goals.
/li liEstablishes and maintains effective relationships with staff; parents; ODE; local elected and civic leaders; and the community at large.
/li liMaintains positive school communication.
Seeks assistance from LLC staff to improve performance.
/li liImplements Board policies and administrative regulations to provide an atmosphere in which students will succeed.
/li liAdministers all Federal, State and Board adopted programs adhering to all eligibility, record keeping, reporting and confidentiality requirements.
/li liSupports the appropriate delivery of all Title and Special Education Services in accordance with the applicable law.
/li liAssist the School Principal in the creation of an operating schedule that insures year round building access.
/li liAssists in the interviewing of potential school employees.
/li liWorks with the School Principal to support the success of all Community School Sponsor site visits.
/li liParticipates in the student enrollment process.
/li liAttends all scheduled Board Meetings.
/li liMaintains the Parent/Student Handbook and Student Code of Conduct.
Handles student discipline in a fair, consistent manner in accordance with policies procedures.
/li liCommunicates effectively with staff, students, parents/guardians, and outside agencies to better meet the needs of the students.
/li liIdentifies programs and activities which facilitate the professional growth of school staff and enhance the quality of educational programs.
/li liRemains knowledgeable of Charter Schools/Public Schools legal issues.
/li liCommunicates with LLC staff to inform and ensure the school's website information is accurate and up to date.
/li liAssists in the development of the school budget so as to insure the needs of the school can be met.
/li liParticipates in all grant efforts in the school.
/li liEvaluates data points to maximize student learning and helps to evaluate student progress.
/li liIn the absence of the School Principal, the Assistant Principal will provide effective supervision of all building staff.
/li liOther duties as identified by the School Principal.

/li liWelcomes parents/guardians and students each day with enthusiasm.




/li liEncourages parents/guardians to participate in their child's school experience.
/li liProvides parents/guardians of prospective students with information about and tours of the school.
/li liFosters relationships with parents/guardians, encourages volunteerism.
/li /ul h3Community Objectives /h3 ul liEncourages and maintains communications with community members.
Participates in community events, connecting with community leaders.
/li liWorks with the School Principal and Marketing Staff to ensure the Constellation brand is visible within the community.
/li /ul h3Personnel Objectives /h3 ul liAttends meetings/activities and training with students, parents/guardians, and staff, as and when required.
/li liProvides direction and assistance to teaching staff as it relates to curriculum development, and the evaluation and selection of classroom materials.
/li liAssists in the establishment of all school committees and student enrichment activities and participates in system–wide Constellation committees.
/li liEvaluates Teachers based on the Ohio Teacher Evaluation System (OTES).
Coaches teachers to assist them to reach their full potential.
/li /ul h3Skills, Knowledge, Abilities Required /h3 ul liMinimum requirement of a Bachelor's degree in Education or related field experience.
/li liPreferred Master's degree in Educational Leadership.
/li liMust possess an Active Principal's License or willingness to obtain an Alternative Principal's license.
/li li3-5 years of teaching experience preferred.
/li liOTES credentialed or willing to become OTES credentialed.
/li liExperience in the Teacher Based Team (TBT) and Building Leadership Team (BLT) process.
/li liExperience working / leading Professional Development programming in a leadership capacity.
/li liPrevious experience successfully implementing the Ohio Learning Standards in an academic setting.
/li liPrevious experience successfully creating and implementing a school budget.
/li liMust possess excellent communication skills.
/li liProblem solving skills: able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; able to gather and analyze information skillfully.
/li liInterpersonal Skills: able to maintain confidentiality, remain open to others' ideas and exhibit a willingness to try new things.
/li liOral Communication: able to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations, demonstrate group presentation skills and conduct meetings.

/li /ul h3Education and Experience /h3 ul liMinimum requirement of a Bachelor's degree in Education or related field experience.
/li liPreferred Master's degree in Educational Leadership.

/li liMinimum 1 year of supervisory or management experience preferred.

Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
