This role is responsible for translating corporate objectives into executable regional plans, leading Campus Managers and site teams through established policies and standards, and driving continuous improvement in operational procedures and practices. The Director will oversee regional budget execution, shapes workforce priorities, and partners closely with cross‑functional stakeholders including, Sales, Engineering, PMO, and Customer teams. /ppThis role requires onsite training and onboarding at one or more EdgeConneX locations. Travel is expected to be significant during the first six months. /ph3Primary Responsibilities /h3ulliOwn overall operational performance across all Italian data centre sites, including uptime, SLA compliance, PUE, safety, and customer satisfaction, while delivering results in line with company policies and targets. /liliLead Campus Managers across Italy, managing team performance, setting objectives, and guiding workforce planning and development within established HR frameworks. /liliTranslate objective-based assignments from the VP of Operations into effective resource plans, schedules, and operational methods required to achieve defined goals.



/liliRecommend and implement changes to regional operational policies, procedures, and standards, ensuring consistency across all sites. /liliManage execution of the regional operating budget, monitor costs, and identify operational expenditure efficiencies without compromising uptime or service quality. /liliOversee the regional vendor and contractor landscape, ensuring contractual SLA and KPI commitments are met. /liliOversee the preventive maintenance programme, change management, incident management, and disaster recovery planning across the Italian portfolio. /liliProvide operational leadership and input into new site commissioning, capacity expansions, and infrastructure upgrades across the region. /liliBuild and maintain strong relationships with key customers and internal stakeholders, acting as the senior escalation point for regional operational issues. /liliPartner with cross‑functional teams including Sales, Finance, HR, and PMO to align operational readiness with business growth objectives. /liliMaintain active relationships with local regulatory authorities to ensure timely compliance with statutory notifications, reporting obligations, and inspections, and serve as the regional point of contact for regulatory enquiries and audits. /liliReport regional KPIs and business performance to the VP of Operations, preparing business reviews and recommendations to support decision‑making. /liliTravel as required. /li /ulh3Knowledge, Skills Abilities /h3ulliProven leader and confident decision‑maker whose judgement carries significant business impact. /liliKnowledge of multi‑site, cross‑border operational leadership practices, including team development through subordinate managers. /liliKnowledge of data centre operational standards, best practices, and 24x7 critical infrastructure management. /liliAbility to translate corporate objectives into operational plans, prioritise work,



and drive accountability for execution. /liliSkill in budget execution, cost monitoring, and vendor contract management. /liliStrong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage effectively across functions and with customers and external stakeholders. /liliAbility to analyse operational data, apply sound judgement, and identify opportunities for improvement. /liliAbility to make confident, high‑impact decisions in a complex operational environment. /liliFluency in English and proficiency in Italian is required. /li /ulh3Experience Education /h3ulliMinimum 12 years’ experience in data centre operations, critical facilities engineering, or a related technical leadership field. /liliBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline preferred; equivalent professional experience considered. /liliExperience commissioning new data centres and transitioning sites from construction to live operations. /liliDemonstrated experience in commissioning new data centre facilities and transitioning sites from construction to live operations. /liliFamiliarity with Italian regulatory and safety frameworks an advantage. /li /ulpThe starting salary will be no less than €68,880 gross per year and the final offer will be fine tuned based on gender neutral criteria of candidates, including but not limited to competencies, responsibilities, effort and work conditions. /ppEdgeConneX believes inclusion – of thought, backgrounds and experiences – affects all that we do, from our employees to the solutions we deliver.
