We believe in prioritising wellbeing, adventure, creativity, and academic rigour, and we value wisdom. /ppbAbout The Role /bReporting to the Head of Middle School, the Head of House is responsible for the welfare and progress of all students in their care and the management and direction of staff working within the House. The Head of House is also an active member of the teaching staff. Candidates must have experience within a similar environment, a proven record of success in a management role and a passion for education. /ppAll teaching staff are actively involved in the co-curricular and the pastoral care programmes within Day and Boarding Houses and play a significant role in enhancing the resiliency and wellbeing of students through the delivery of Positive Education. /ppbWhat You Will Be Doing /b /pulliLeading the welfare and supervision of students in their care /liliEnabling tutorial, counselling, discipline and routine arrangements that will promote the development and wellbeing of individual students, as well as responsible community behaviour /liliEnabling engagement with the tenets of holistic education to develop and foster a sense of community in the House and in the broader School /liliEncouraging the development of student leadership,



as reflected through the quality of House and School spirit /liliLiaising with academic staff about the needs of individual students in their House /liliLiaising with parents and guardians about their child’s progress and to promote links between the House and the parent body. /liliWorking in a collegial way with all Heads of House on the Heads of House Team, and other welfare and health support staff (Kennedy Medical Centre). /liliAttending to all compliance matters, including safety protocols and accurate record keeping, ensuring appropriate records of students are maintained, as required /liliAdvising on the allocation of staff, and to encourage the professional learning and development of House staff in matters of pastoral care and wellbeing /liliReviewing and managing the performance of staff within the House /liliManaging House budgets /liliLeading and managing staff allocated to the House. This includes ensuring house is always staffed appropriately and staffing of the house is strategically planned /liliSupporting the development of staff, induction of new staff into the boarding house processes and performance management of staff as required /li /ulpbWhat We Are Looking For /b /pulliExceptional relationship management skills /liliExcellent written and oral communication skills /liliPrevious experience in a management or supervisory role /liliPostgraduate qualifications in Boarding Management, Education or Student Welfare or Business Administration/Management (Desirable). /liliAbility to lead, energise and coordinate diverse teams /liliKnowledge and practical application of regulatory compliance systems and frameworks and legislation impacting education management /liliA thorough understanding and knowledge of positive education, pedagogical theory, standards and practice /liliDemonstrated understanding of holistic education /li /ulpbHow To Apply /b /p /p #J-18808-Ljbffr
