Overview Our client is looking for a Grid Manager to play a key role in the development and delivery of utility-scale renewable energy projects. This position will focus on managing the electrical infrastructure required to connect Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) to the electricity network, ensuring projects progress efficiently from early-stage development through to construction.
Key Responsibilities Lead the assessment and development of grid connection solutions for utility-scale renewable energy projects.
Evaluate high-voltage (HV) and medium-voltage (MV) connection options, including substations, overhead transmission lines and underground cable routes.
Recommend the most appropriate technical and commercial connection strategy based on project objectives, programme and network constraints.
Coordinate the engineering activities required to progress projects through development, design and grid connection stages.
Manage technical studies, feasibility assessments and engineering deliverables produced by external consultants and design partners.




Ensure technical documentation is accurate, compliant and delivered in line with project milestones.
Act as a key point of contact with Transmission System Operators (TSOs), Distribution System Operators (DSOs), engineering consultants and other third-party stakeholders.
Support negotiations relating to grid connection agreements and technical requirements.
Build strong working relationships to facilitate successful project delivery
Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring schedules, budgets and technical deliverables remain on track.
Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimise delays and technical challenges.
Provide regular progress updates and technical reporting to senior management.
Prepare cost estimates and support budget management for electrical infrastructure and connection works.
Review engineering proposals and technical solutions to ensure value for money
