About the role Design Engineer at Ashby combines design and engineering to shape the UI and UX of a powerful talent acquisition product used by hundreds of thousands of users. Responsibilities Redesign the mobile web app by working with customers, wireframing flows, implementing the design system, and turning wireframes into a polished UI. Build a set of flexible, composable components in the design system that enable other engineers to create consistent setup wizards across the product. Help product engineers improve information hierarchy and scannability to assist recruiters parsing candidate assessments. Expand and enhance our in‐house design system for the vantaggi of the engineering and product teams. Consult on bespoke design work needed by product engineers. Qualifications 1–2 years of industry experience as a designer or engineer (Junior); 2+ years continuous experience for Design Engineer (mid/senior); staff level required for professional contributions to a design system and feature delivery. Strong proficiency in both design (visual taste, UI/UX)



and engineering (Type Script, React, CSS). Backend proficiency is a plus. Experience designing products and shipping code to a wide user base. Ability to ship fast and iterate based on user feedback. Excellent visual design execution and taste. Comfort working on design systems and delivering complete design + code solutions.
