The Teaching Fellow participates in teaching activities in the School of Physics and provides assistance for course assessment, administration and curriculum development. The Teaching Fellow will support the teaching of first year physics students, ensuring high quality teaching is maintained in the laboratory sessions and problem-solving workshops. The Teaching Fellow’s current knowledge of high school students will be utilised to enhance the transition of first year students to the university setting.



The Teaching Fellow will also assist in the development of resources for high school teachers as part of the graduate certificate in physics for science teachers and professional development offerings from within the School of Physics.
NOTE:Due to the nature of this position and the intent behind it, to be eligible for this position, the appointee must not have previously been appointed as a Teaching Fellow at UNSW, and this role will be for 1 year with no possibility of extension.
About The Role
- Level A - (113K - )121K plus 17% Superannuation and annual leave loading
- Fixed Term – 12 months (starting in January 2027)
- Full-time (35 hours per week)

The role of Teaching Fellow reports to the Director of First Year Studies and has no direct reports.
Specific Responsibilities For This Role Include
- Teach first year physics courses including the delivery of lectures, laboratory sessions, online courses, and problem-solving workshops.
