You will combine kitchen leadership, workplace training and safe prisoner supervision.You will:oversee safe and efficient kitchen operations, food production and catering servicesplan production, order supplies and maintain accurate stock and financial recordstrain people in our care to build practical kitchen and workplace skillssupervise kitchen work while maintaining security, food safety and workplace safetymonitor production, quality and record keeping and recommend practical improvements.About youYou do not need a formal qualification to apply.
A commercial cookery, catering or food-industry qualification is desirable and advantageous.You must complete, or be willing to complete, Corrections Victoria pre-service training.
Correctional practice and training qualifications are also desirable.You should also have:commercial kitchen experience, ideally in catering or large-scale food productionstrong skills in food preparation, production planning, ordering and stock controlthe ability to provide clear and practical workplace trainingsound judgement when managing safety, security, quality and competing kitchen demands.The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include national police checks and misconduct screening.Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander (Aboriginal) people are strongly encouraged to apply.
