As a Software Engineer III, Backend in the Consumer Growth Team, you’ll play a key role in shaping the future of digital payments by designing and building scalable features that drive user growth and reduce friction for our community.
Own the Story Lifecycle : Take full ownership of the end-to-end lifecycle—from technical design to production release—ensuring that product stories are robust and scalable. Build and optimise high-reliability systems for onboarding, document verification, and security flows to ensure users can start transacting safely in minutes. Enhance the app experience by developing core backend services for shop discovery and personalised consumer journeys.
Master a Modern Tech Stack : Take ownership of our AWS-based infrastructure and participate in architectural improvements across our growth-focused microservices. Work in an AI-Powered Environment : Leverage AI tools daily to write and optimise code, speed up root cause analysis, and generate documentation to raise engineering efficiency. Conduct technical analysis, accurately estimate effort, and participate in incident resolution to ensure system health.
Collaborate & Document : Create comprehensive technical documentation and collaborate cross-functionally with Product and stakeholders to align with the roadmap.
Experience : You have at least 3 years of experience as a Backend Engineer, with a strong track record of building and maintaining scalable microservices.
Solid expertise in Java and Spring Boot, with a good understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL) and cloud environments (AWS is a plus).
Growth Mindset : You care about performance and user experience, understanding how technical improvements in onboarding or loyalty flows impact millions of users.
Reliability & Documentation : You are structured in your approach, enjoy writing clear technical documentation, and focus on building maintainable, high‑quality code.
Teamwork and Communication : You excel at cross‑functional collaboration and can communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non‑technical peers.
