Senior Mechanical Technician - Injection Molding (m/f/d)

In this role, you will be responsible for the design and development of plastic components and assemblies for injection molding applications, ensuring compliance with functionality, quality, manufacturability, cost, and reliability requirements.

Your Responsibilities

- Design and develop complex plastic components and assemblies for injection molding applications
- Create and maintain 3D CAD models, technical drawings, and related documentation
- Define plastic design concepts according to Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles
- Select suitable plastic materials and define dimensional tolerances
- Collaborate with tooling suppliers and mold manufacturers during mold design, qualification, and production ramp-up phases
- Support prototyping, testing, validation activities, and root-cause analyses
- Review and optimize designs to improve product quality, manufacturability, and cost efficiency
- Mentor junior team members and actively contribute to knowledge sharing within the department
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and standardization activities
- Work closely with cross-functional engineering teams, suppliers, and external partners

Your Qualifications & Skills

- Technical diploma or comparable qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related field
- Several years of experience in plastic component design for injection molding
- Strong knowledge of plastic materials, injection molding processes, tolerancing, and DFM/DFA principles
- Experience collaborating with tooling suppliers and managing mold development activities
- Proficiency in SolidWorks is a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Structured, autonomous, and result-oriented working style




- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Fluent in English; as well as in German and/or Italian

- Total compensation starting from € 64,000 gross per year, including a 30% variable premio based on goal achievement
