Responsible for supporting day‑to‑day operations within their area of responsibility, working collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders to ensure high standards of service, compliance, and performance.

Role Principles

Key Responsibilities Role specific responsibilities Conduct Wind Tunnel realism studies, investigating the aerodynamic impact of factors such as WT tyres, aeroelasticity, model fidelity, and testing methodologies to improve WT testing representativeness and predictive accuracy. Define, maintain, and develop Wind Tunnel maps and performance metrics, ensuring aerodynamic testing delivers meaningful information for development decisions, performance evaluation, and correlation activities. Define, execute and analyze dedicated Wind Tunnel and bench experiments, translating results into actionable insights for aerodynamic development, performance assessment, and testing strategy.

Drive the application and advancement of aerodynamic measurement techniques, including pressure measurements, flow-field diagnostics, and other experimental methods to improve aerodynamic understanding. Perform correlation studies across Wind Tunnel, Track, CFD, and benches, identifying discrepancies, improving testing realism, and establishing robust correlation metrics. Build and maintain models, analysis routines, and software tools,



ensuring compliance with company standards for software quality, model development, documentation, and maintainability.

Collaborate closely with Aero Development, Aero Performance, Aero Engineering, CFD, and Software groups to align methodologies and maximize aerodynamic performance understanding and correlation. Ensure work meets expected service, quality, and compliance standards. Team & Stakeholder Collaboration Build positive working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.

Compliance & Governance Adhere to relevant legislation, organisational policies, and internal controls. Handle information responsibly, including confidential or sensitive data.

Continuous Improvement

Contribute ideas and feedback to improve processes and ways of working. Participate in team initiatives, projects, or improvement activities.

Person Specification Essential

Qualifications &

Experience Master’s degree in aerospace engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Focus on aerodynamics / fluid dynamics is preferred. Ph D and/or a minimum of 2 years of experience in Formula 1 is preferred. Adaptability & Flexibility Comfortable with extensive travel and irregular working hours, including weekends and race days. Open to innovation and continuous improvement in processes and culture. Equipment and Applications Proficiency with Microsoft Office and engineering tools. Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, MATLAB, C++) for data processing, data analysis, automation, or tool development, including packages for ML/AI/Data Processing Knowledge of data acquisition systems and telemetry analysis tools Familiarity with CFD and CAD software (e.g., CATIA/3 DX). Have an excellent understanding of English language. Strong understanding of aerodynamics and fluid dynamics Solid knowledge of mathematical modelling, machine learning and statistics principles Physical Demands Extended Hours & Flexibility Many roles require working evenings, weekends, and public holidays, particularly during race season or critical development phases.

Travel Requirements

Roles supporting race operations,



logistics, or communications may involve frequent international travel, including long‑haul flights and time zone shifts. Factory roles may require manual handling of components, use of machinery, or working in temperature‑controlled areas. Office‑based roles typically involve prolonged computer use and occasional movement between departments.

Sensory Demands

Exposure to high noise levels (e.g., engines, pit lane activity), bright lighting, and fast‑moving environments is common in race support roles. This role is based in a shared workplace environment where exposure to common allergens (including food products, fragrances and cleaning materials) may occur. Completion of all mandatory compliance training (including health and safety, data protection, and role‑specific regulatory training) is a condition of employment and must be maintained throughout tenure.
