Cruise Director Assistant on Aqua Blu (Indonesia)
The role of the Assistant Cruise Director is to support the Cruise Director in delivering seamless operations and exceptional guest experiences in line with our luxury service standards. This includes assisting with administrative tasks, coordinating guest services, and stepping in to lead in the Cruise Director’s absence when required. The role also plays an active part in promoting environmental and social responsibility initiatives, ensuring alignment with Aqua Expeditions’ commitment to sustainability, conservation, and community engagement. Overall, the Assistant Cruise Director contributes to maintaining a high standard of service while supporting the team’s mission both onboard and beyond.
Day to Day
- In constant communication with the captain and navigation crew to verify the passengers' experience on excursions.
- Complements the Cruise Director's report with missing information about guest requests.
- Supervises the proper fulfilment of the team's respective functions.
- Oversees breakfast, lunch, dinner, and other services for guests.
- Monitors guest satisfaction and needs on board.
- Welcomes guests on embarkation days and after each excursion.
- Supervises the guide's presentation of the program.
- Provides the Cruise Director with the necessary information for the operational report on incidents.
- Has comment cards available and correctly fills them out with guests’ and service crew's names.
- Handles closing the consumption points of sale (POS).
- Manages special boutique offers in coordination with the Cruise Director.
- Replaces the Cruise Director when necessary.
What are we looking for?
- Technical or Bachelor’s Degree in Administration, Hospitality or Tourism Management.
- Minimum 2 years of work experience in luxury hospitality or cruise industry.
- Proven track record of leadership with a minimum of 1 year of experience.
- Fluent English communication skills.
- Proficient in computer skills and numeracy.
- Competence in swimming.
- You enjoy speaking and sharing your knowledge with customers.
- Customer Service capabilities, able to deal with a variety of clients and strong multi-tasking skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to plan ahead.
