This role represents a key technical position within the business, supporting the ambition to become a trusted engineering partner within the Data Centre ecosystem by connecting customer requirements, technology capabilities and project execution.
The Opportunity
The Senior Solution Architect will be responsible for designing robust and scalable power system architectures for Data Centre applications across Europe.
Working closely with Business Development, Key Account Management, Product Management and Project Delivery teams, the role focuses on translating complex customer requirements into integrated technical solutions that combine power generation technologies, energy storage systems and wider critical power infrastructure.
The successful candidate will act as the technical bridge between customers, engineering teams and product development, ensuring solutions deliver the required levels of reliability, resilience, sustainability and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
System Architecture & Solution Design
- Develop integrated power system architectures for hyperscale, colocation and enterprise Data Centre projects.
- Design complete critical power solutions incorporating power generation systems, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), switchgear, control systems and grid interfaces.
- Ensure technical solutions meet customer requirements in terms of performance, resilience, sustainability and operational efficiency.
System & Grid Engineering
- Define system configurations and grid connection concepts for mission-critical power applications.
- Develop redundancy strategies including N, N+1 and 2N architectures.
- Evaluate technical solutions considering reliability, scalability, operational flexibility and lifecycle performance.
- Support application engineering activities throughout the solution development process.
Customer Technical Leadership
- Act as the primary technical advisor during customer engagements and solution development activities.
- Lead technical workshops, design reviews and engineering discussions with customers, consultants, EPC contractors and technology partners.
- Translate operational requirements into technically robust and commercially competitive solutions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Act as the technical interface between Sales, Product Management, Engineering, Application Engineering and Project Management teams.
- Collaborate with commercial teams during opportunity development, bid preparation and technical proposal activities.
- Ensure a smooth transition from solution design to project execution while maintaining technical consistency throughout the project lifecycle.
Product & Technology Development
- Capture customer requirements and market feedback to support future product development and application strategies.
- Contribute to the creation of reference architectures, engineering guidelines and best practices for Data Centre applications.
- Monitor technology trends across critical power infrastructure, digital energy platforms and grid integration to support long-term innovation strategies.
Technical Representation
- Represent the organisation during technical customer meetings, engineering workshops and industry events.
- Support the company's positioning as a trusted technology partner within the European Data Centre ecosystem.
- Build strong relationships with engineering consultants, EPC contractors and strategic technology partners.
Candidate Profile
We are seeking an experienced technical leader with strong expertise in mission-critical power infrastructure and system architecture for Data Centre applications.
The ideal candidate combines advanced engineering capabilities with excellent customer-facing skills and the ability to translate complex operational requirements into integrated technical solutions while collaborating effectively across international and multidisciplinary teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Energy Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Solution Architecture, Application Engineering or System Design within international engineering organisations.
- Strong experience in one or more of the following sectors:
- Data Centres
- Critical Power
- Power Generation
- Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
- Grid Integration
- Electrical Infrastructure
- Industrial Energy Solutions
- Proven experience designing integrated power systems for complex customer environments.
- Experience supporting technical sales processes and working alongside commercial teams during long sales cycles.Strong understanding of engineering interfaces involving EPC contractors, consultants and technology partners.
Preferred Experience
Experience working with or designing solutions involving:
- Hyperscale Data Centre operators.
- Colocation providers.
- EPC organisations.
- Generator packagers.
- Switchgear manufacturers.
- Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
- Grid integration technologies.
- Energy Management Systems (EMS).
- Digital monitoring and control platforms.
- Utilities and energy infrastructure providers.

- Base salary up to€80,000 gross per annum .
