Civil Engineer – Data CentreLocation: Rho, MilanProject: Data CentreEmployer: Italian General ContractorContract: 6 months initially, with a view to permanent employmentWorking Hours: Monday – Friday, 8 hours per dayAbout the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join an Italian General Contractor delivering a major Data Centre project in Milan.The Civil Engineer will be responsible for supporting the delivery of the civil and structural elements of the project, working closely with the project management team, consultants, subcontractors and design teams. The role will focus on technical coordination, drawing and document review, package management and ensuring that works are delivered in accordance with the approved design, specifications and project requirements.This is initially a 6-month contract, with a strong possibility of becoming a permanent position based on performance and project requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesReview civil and structural drawings, specifications and technical documentation.Assemble and manage construction and engineering packages for assigned scopes of work.Coordinate with design consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and internal project teams.Review shop drawings and ensure they are aligned with the approved design and project requirements.Review material submittals, technical submissions and supporting documentation.Identify design clashes, technical discrepancies and misalignments between drawings, specifications and site requirements.Raise and manage RFIs, technical queries and design clarifications where required.Ensure civil works comply with approved drawings, specifications, standards and project requirements.Support the coordination of civil works with MEP,



structural and architectural disciplines.Review subcontractor documentation and provide technical feedback where required.Monitor technical progress and support the project team in resolving construction-related issues.Liaise with consultants and subcontractors to ensure technical issues are resolved efficiently.Assist with inspections and verification of civil works to ensure compliance with the approved design.Maintain accurate technical records, drawing registers and documentation.Support the project team with technical reporting and progress updates.Ensure all works are delivered in accordance with the project’s quality, health & safety and environmental requirements.RequirementsDegree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.Previous experience working as a Civil Engineer on large-scale construction projects.Experience working for a general contractor/main contractor is highly desirable.Strong experience reviewing construction drawings, shop drawings and technical documentation.Experience coordinating with consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.Ability to identify design discrepancies, clashes and technical misalignments.Good understanding of construction methodologies, materials and civil engineering standards.Experience with material submittals and technical approvals.Strong organisational and document management skills.Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary project team.Strong communication and problem-solving skills.Experience within data centres, industrial, commercial or other complex construction environments would be highly advantageous.Fluency in Italian and English is preferred.Working ConditionsMonday – Friday8 hours per dayMilan, Italy6-month initial contractOpportunity to transition into a permanent positionOpportunity to work on a major data centre project with an established Italian General Contractor.Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate will be a technically strong Civil Engineer with proven experience working on complex construction projects.
