Design limited enhancements, updates, and programming changes for portions and subsystems of systems software
Analyze designs and determine coding, programming, and integration activities based on objectives and project guidelines
Execute and write portions of testing plans, protocols, and documentation
Identify and debug code issues and suggest changes or improvements
Participate in project teams with software systems engineers and internal and outsourced development partners
Develop reliable, cost-effective, and high-quality solutions for assigned systems portions or subsystems
Collaborate and communicate on software systems design status, project progress, and issue resolution
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent
- Typically 2–4 years of experience
- Experience designing and developing backend or distributed software systems
- Fluent in English and Italian
- Strong knowledge of backend software development languages
- Solid experience with Linux operating systems and networking fundamentals
- Good understanding of IP networking, including major Layer 2/Layer 3 protocols
- Experience with software development best practices, Git, and issue-tracking platforms
- Experience with software testing, debugging, and troubleshooting methodologiesStrong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Preferred: experience with 4G/LTE and 5G Core Networks
- Preferred: familiarity with Linux kernel networking concepts and network stack
- Preferred: experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native environments
- Preferred: exposure to telecommunications protocols and network function architectures
- Preferred: knowledge of advanced IP routing, including BGP and OSPF
- Preferred: understanding of microservices and distributed systems design principles
