Job Title: Culinary Coordinator Intern Department: Kitchen Reports to: Executive Chef JOB OVERVIEW: Basic Requirements Education: - Bachelor’s Degree. - Excellent command of the English language. - A specialization course or Master’s Degree is preferred. Key Responsibilities The Intern will be assigned to the Kitchen Department and will gain a comprehensive understanding of department management through the following activities: - Menu engineering and optimization. - Analysis and evaluation of food costs. - Preparation of weekly schedules for the kitchen and stewarding departments. - Kitchen staff management, including task coordination and vacation planning. - Management of departmental correspondence and the Executive Chef’s schedule and commitments. - Support in the recruitment and selection process for kitchen positions in collaboration with the Human Resources Department. - Assistance to the Executive Chef during job interviews. - Support to the Human Resources Department in organizing training and development activities.
- Creation and implementation of a database management system for kitchen employees. Throughout this internship experience, the Intern will develop a diverse set of skills. They will learn to be proactive, efficient, and responsive to the department’s needs, including handling last-minute requests when necessary. The trainee will also strengthen their organizational, coordination, and problem-solving abilities. Essential Skills: - Polite, responsible, and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. - Accurate, detail-oriented, and decisive. - Strong team-working skills. - Excellent problem-solving attitude. - Flexibility regarding working hours. - Strong collaborative mindset. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
