European Tech Recruit are working closely with a market leading 3 D scanning company, based in Bressanone, who are looking for a talented System Administrator to join their team. In this role you will keep their scanning and compute infrastructure running smoothly, improve configuration standards, and gradually automate what's currently manual. You'll work closely with software and infrastructure engineers but own the day-to-day health of their Linux environment. Responsibilities as System Administrator : Set up and configure scanning workstations, compute nodes, and storage systems. Debug hardware issues (storage drives, GPUs, memory, networking) and software issues (drivers, containers, internal tools). Extend and maintain Ansible-based configuration management. Provide technical support to engineering and operations teams. Build repeatable deployment processes for new scanning stations. Document infrastructure procedures and troubleshooting guides. Contribute to Infrastructure as Code initiatives. Ensure high availability for development and production scanner systems.
Maintain networking infrastructure across internal and client-deployed environments. Requirements: Hands-on hardware experience – comfortable installing and troubleshooting physical components. Solid networking fundamentals and troubleshooting skills. Understanding of how application software interacts with infrastructure (GPU drivers, CUDA toolkits, container runtimes, storage mounts). Ability to work independently and take ownership of system problems. Driving license, occasional travel to client sites required. Ansible or other configuration management tools. True NAS, ZFS, or enterprise storage experience. Monitoring and alerting tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Netdata, Datadog). Datacenter operations or distributed systems experience.
