Project Director, Capital Projects
Location: Parma, Italy. The role supports GSK’s mission to deliver reliable medicines and vaccines globally.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end‑to‑end delivery of high‑value capital projects, ensuring scope, schedule, cost, quality, health, safety and environmental requirements are met.
- Build and lead multi‑disciplinary project teams and manage external contractors and suppliers to achieve agreed outcomes.
- Develop and maintain integrated project plans, budgets and risk registers, and provide regular status reporting to stakeholders.
- Ensure engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and qualification activities follow regulatory and internal standards.
- Drive stakeholder engagement and clear project communications, supporting business change and readiness for handover to operations.
- Ensure alignment of project outcomes with business and organisational strategies, delivering fully compliant, validated systems and facilities.
- Lead governance, compliance and risk frameworks across projects.




- Provide coaching and guidance to team members and support capability building in project management practices.

Basic Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management or a related field.
- Considerable experience managing complex capital projects in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
- Extensive knowledge of GMP, regulatory requirements and validation processes.
- Proven track record of delivering large‑scale projects on time and within budget.
- Exceptional leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Solid experience in project management tools and methodologies, project planning, risk management, contract management and change control.
- Fluent in English and Italian; comfortable working across international teams.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills
- MSc or additional qualification in Engineering/Construction Management or a related field.
- Project management certifi
