Overview The project aims to identify and characterize, at the genetic and molecular level, the mechanisms of bactoprenol recycling in the bacterial pathogen Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The researcher will develop and apply genetic and genomic strategies to select mutants defective in bactoprenol recycling, identify the mutations underlying this defect, characterize the function of the genes involved, and confirm the role of these genes in bactoprenol recycling through biochemical and molecular approaches. Candidates should have a solid background in bacterial genetics and, if possible, experience in identification and characterization of essential genes involved in lipid transport in Pseudomonas aeruginosa, supported by a relevant publication record.
Responsibilities Develop and apply genetic and genomic strategies to study bactoprenol recycling in Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Identify mutations responsible for defects in bactoprenol recycling and characterize gene function. Confirm gene roles through biochemical and molecular approaches. Qualifications Solid background in bacterial genetics. Experience in identifying and characterizing essential genes involved in lipid transport in Pseudomonas aeruginosa (preferred).
