Junior System Engineer
Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Junior System Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks within our Rolling Stock Engineering Department. The position is based in Pistoia or Napoli - IT. Accountabilities
Prepare System Requirements Specifications (SyRS)
Define and manage system interfaces (both internal and external) throughout the entire project lifecycle
Analyze and assess technical documentation from Suppliers
Prepare and verify system installation/integration drawings/specifications
Conduct design reviews (both internal and with suppliers) for the assigned onboard systems, under the supervision of relevant Engineering Managers and Project Engineers
Prepare Functional Requirements Specifications (FRS), as well as Functional Test Specifications (FTS) (including performance tests) for the assigned onboard systems
Attend at system stand‐alone type test and review of type test reports
Support onboard integration, performance testing and validation phases
Review design documentation with customers and suppliers
Ensure compliance with input requirements, international railway regulations and standards and project constraints (time, cost, quality)
Prepare the documentation required for vehicle approval and support the homologation phase
Required Skills / Knowledge
Basic knowledge of system engineering and requirements management disciplines
Basic knowledge of design verification and validation methodologies
Basic knowledge of electrical, electronic and mechanical engineering disciplines
Good knowledge of office automation software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast‐paced, international and multicultural environment
Good organizational skills, alongside team‐working, problem‐solving and results‐driven mindset
Ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders (including suppliers, partne
