Role overview
The Senior Engineering & Construction Underwriter will be responsible for
underwriting Engineering & Construction risks, conducting risk assessments
through preliminary data analysis and selection, and ensuring high-quality,
timely responses to the sales network.
The successful candidate will combine strong technical expertise with commercial
competence and will work closely with brokers, demonstrating excellent
relationship-building and negotiation skills.
The position is based in Milan and reports directly to the Underwriting Director
– Engineering & Construction.
Role responsibilities
* Handle quotation requests for various types of Engineering & Construction
risks in line with the Line of Business risk appetite.
* Underwrite policies including CAR, EAR, IDI, Machinery Breakdown, Leasing,
EEI, CPE, Property through technical analysis, risk evaluation, and pricing.
* Build and maintain relationships with the distribution network, comprising
more than 1,200 agents and brokers.
* Support monitoring portfolio performance and underwriting results.
* Define and implement product and pricing strategies within the Line of
Business.
* Review and analyze Loss Prevention and Technical Control reports.
* Deliver technical and commercial training and support to agents and brokers.
