We are looking to hire a talented Staff Engineer to develop and manage our Big Data solutions.
In this role, you will be required to design and implement Big Data tools and frameworks, data-intensive applications, and cloud platforms.
To ensure success as a Big Data Engineer, you should have in-depth knowledge of distributed computing technologies and top problem-solving skills.
Salary: 62.5 K - 72.5 K + up to 8 K bonus
Responsibilities: Analyzes, designs, and implements complex systems Challenges team processes, looking for ways to improve Mentors junior engineers via pairing, design,
and code review Builds software solutions by adhering to our quality standards about SDLC Makes active efforts to stay up-to-date with technologies Leads the technical design of complex systems Understands and optimizes system performances Takes the initiative to fix issues before they become problems Delivers complex systems, well-baked, and almost bug-free Proactively identifies problems with requirements and project plans Becomes an expert in one technological area Researches and proposes new technologies Detects possible performance bottlenecks Known for drama-free launches Can jump into old projects and fix them Influences the technical and business roadmap of services/products/projects Proactively identifies and tackles tech debt Communicates with self-awareness Proposes solutions in written form with proper context Contributes to the career development of others Is sought out for technical guidance and is seen as a resource by others Creates sweeping improvements in stability, performance, and scalability of major business-critical systems Can discuss at the same level with tech-vendor engineering teams Debugs complex problems encountered by the team Resolves tech and business problems effectively Removes roadblocks for multiple projects/products Acts with full autonomy based on strategy Has made a significant positive impact on the company's technical/business trajectory Identifies technological improvement areas for the organization Focuses on efficiency, introducing new practices, processes, and standards Listens, guides debates, and helps reach consensus; communicates decisions clearly Sets short to medium-term strategic technical or operational directions, looking 6-12 months ahead Clearly communicates technical vision and helps teams and stakeholders follow it Proactively identifies and communicates lack of clarity in overall strategy
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science 7+ years of experience in the field In-depth knowledge of Hadoop, Spark, and similar frameworks Proficiency in Java and Scala Expertise in cloud-native technologies, Ia C, and Docker tools Excellent project management skills Excellent communication skills Proactivity Business and functional understanding Team player Ability to solve complex networking, data, and software issues Leadership capabilities
