What you will do
- Work on specific problem spaces critical to Klarna's needs, with opportunities to switch teams as both you and our fast-paced business evolve.
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of JavaScript-based applications, ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability across both frontend and backend.
- Work with modern technologies such as TypeScript, Node.js, React, and React Native to build seamless and scalable solutions.
- Utilize cloud technologies, primarily AWS, to develop and deploy services.
- Engage in the full project lifecycle—from conception to deployment and beyond—ensuring projects are delivered on time and to specifications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Klarna to align on integration strategies and optimize system architecture.
- Drive an engineering culture within the team, emphasizing innovation, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Proactively identify and mitigate potential issues in our distributed and financial systems.
- Work in small autonomous teams with short release cycles.
Who you are
- Proficient in TypeScript and JavaScript, with strong experience in Node.js and modern frontend frameworks (e.g., React / React Native).
- Experienced in architecting and building scalable, robust systems across the stack.
- Skilled with cloud technologies, especially AWS.
- Adept in distributed systems, with the ability to anticipate and mitigate issues proactively.
- Independent, able to manage projects end-to-end and contribute to technical direction.
- A strong communicator, capable of collaborating effectively across teams and domains.
- Experience mentoring others and contributing to a positive engineering culture.
- Working proficiency and communication skills in verbal and written English.
Awesome to have
- Experience with microservices architecture and event-driven systems.
- Familiarity with REST and/or GraphQL APIs.
- Experience with tools such as Kafka, Docker, Jenkins, Datadog, or Splunk.
