Senior Space Systems Engineer

Salary Range: €70,000 - €100,000

At ORiS, we are building the technologies that will power the next generation of space missions. Through laser-based wireless power transmission, we aim to overcome the energy limitations of today’s satellites and enable longer, more capable, and more resilient operations in orbit.

As a Senior Space Systems Engineer, you will contribute to the development of a pioneering mission aimed at demonstrating laser-based Wireless Power Transmission between satellites in Low Earth Orbit (LEO).

You will play a key role in transforming innovative concepts into operational space systems, supporting both this flagship mission and future space programs that will redefine how satellites are powered and operated in orbit.

As part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will drive system-level decisions, coordinate technical activities across multiple disciplines,



and contribute to the successful delivery of the first Wireless Power Transmission satellite.

What You Will Do
- Lead system engineering activities throughout the complete spacecraft development lifecycle
- Define, manage, and maintain system requirements
- Develop spacecraft architectures, interface definitions, and technical budgets
- Perform trade-off analyses and support critical technical decision-making
- Coordinate activities across mechanical, electrical, software, AOCS, thermal, and payload engineering teams
- Support integration, verification, validation, and qualification activities
- Contribute to major project milestones including SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, and Acceptance Reviews
- Identify technical risks and implement effective mitigation strategies
- Support stakeholders interactions and ensure compliance with mission and program requirements

What We Are Looking For
- At least 5 years of experience in Space Systems Engineering or spacecraft developme
