This role will operate under the general guidance of the Humanitarian Access Specialist (ERT), Complex and High Threat Environments Team (based in Rome). /p h3Purpose of the Position /h3 pTo support the Humanitarian Policy Section's work on assignment to support work on humanitarian access, humanitarian negotiations, and capacity building in complex and high-threat environments. /p h3Duration /h3 pThis stretch assignment will be for a period of three months with possibility of extension. /p h3Key expected results /h3 ul liSupport the organization of the biennial workshop for UNICEF Representatives on complex and high threat environments, blended with an executive humanitarian negotiations training for UNICEF country leadership. (30%)
/li liReview and systematize existing access and negotiations training modules; update develop UNICEF micro-courses on critical humanitarian access related topics, and create Menti-modules for the CHTE trainer pool. (20%) /li liAssist with the follow-up to the UNICEF access negotiations Training of Trainers (ToT), including by remotely supporting in-country cascading efforts, sharing and tailoring resources, and promoting sectoral collaborations (20%) /li liSupport in the development and dissemination of a food-for-thought paper on the intersections between humanitarian access and localization, including specific country case studies (10%) /li liSupport in the finalization and dissemination of an armed groups engagement risk mitigation matrix tool based on the ANSA baseline study (10%) /li liSupport UNICEF participation in the Global Access Working Group (GAWG), the Civil-Military Advisory Group (CMAG), and the UN-CMCOORD group, as needs arise. (10%) /li /ul h3Minimum Qualifications and Competencies /h3 pAdvanced university degree in international relations, international law, human rights, political and social sciences, humanities, or related technical field. /p h3Work experience /h3 ul liRelevant professional experience in humanitarian action, humanitarian policy, access, negotiations, localization, learning and development, and/or capacity building is required. /li liExperience supporting the organization of workshops, training,
learning events, or capacity-building initiatives is highly desirable. /li liExperience developing, reviewing, or formatting training materials, guidance notes, knowledge products, or analytical papers is an asset. /li liFamiliarity with humanitarian access, humanitarian negotiations, humanitarian principles, localization, civil-military coordination, and/or engagement with non-State actors in complex and high-threat environments is desirable. /li liExperience working with UNICEF country or field offices is an advantage. /li liStrong coordination, drafting, analytical, organizational, and communication skills are required. /li liAbility to work independently, manage competing priorities, and deliver quality outputs within tight timelines is essential. /li /ul h3Funding arrangement /h3 pThis is a temporary development opportunity and there will be no changes to the staff member’s status (position number, level, etc.). /p pAs the stretch assignment is remote, no DSA will be applicable, except during the two-week on-site period, for which 50% DSA will apply. /p pCandidates considered potentially well matched for this stretch assignment may be contacted for interview.
