**Cloud Architect** **EFSA/X/AD/2025/01** The **European Food Safety Authority (EFSA)**, based in Parma, Italy is looking for a **Cloud Architect** (Temporary Agent, Grade AD6) The purpose of this call is to establish a talent pool (reserve list) that may be used for the recruitment of staff when a position becomes available and will be valid until **3**1**/12/2026**. Join us at EFSA, where your expertise will contribute to risk assessment and data management initiatives that make a difference on European level. **The Risk Assessment Services (ENABLE) Department** delivers services enabling, supporting, and guiding risk assessment production, promoting integration and synergies between sectoral areas, and ensuring the quality and efficiency of the scientific process. It also provides strategic advice on digital transformation and technology integration, enhancing EFSA's digital performance and governance.**The Management Services (EMPOWER) Department** provides, via a partnering approach, services and solutions ensuring sound governance and accountability, efficient use of resources and an inspiring working environment. **Your key responsibilities**
- Design and implements scalable, secure, and high-performance cloud architectures using Azure services (e.g., Compute, Network, Storage, Monitoring, Security), ensuring alignment with business and technical requirements;
- Translate business requirements into Azure solution designs aligned with the Azure Well-Architected Framework and Cloud Adoption Framework;
- Monitor and optimise cloud infrastructure for performance, scalability,



and cost-efficiency, leveraging tools such as Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights;
- Design and maintain solutions for identity management, security, business continuity, disaster recovery, and governance, enforce enterprise security standards, and ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks;
- Design and maintain integrations across multi-cloud environments, including Azure, Oracle HCM, Salesforce, and Appian, enabling seamless workflows and data exchange;
- Build strong relationships with scientific teams to provide expert advice on Azure architecture and solutions;
- Collaborate with data teams to design and implement data processing and analytics platforms, leveraging tools like Databricks for scalable and reliable data solutions;
- Stay updated on emerging technologies (e.g., mobility, cloud-native services, AI, ML, automation) to drive innovation and development;
- Ensure high-quality IT service operations and end-user satisfaction, even if IT operations may be fully or partially outsourced. **WHY EFSA?** You will play an active role in an organisation that makes a difference to the lives of 445 million EU citizens.
