S.Stefano a Macerata - Cascina (Pisa) Date of publication: 21 July 2025 Type of Contract: “Collaboratore Tecnico” (Technical Collaborator) Expected date of employment: The earliest possible Proportion of work: Tempo pieno Remuneration: 35.635,60 € annual gross (Liv.IV Fascia 0) Required level of education: High school diploma in technical or scientific fields Required experience: configuration and administration of MS-Windows servers and clients in a clustered Active Directory Domain environment and of the related services (OS/WSUS, Group Policy Objects, printing services, windows shares, licensing,) Sections: Information Technology Department **Missions** The European Gravitational Observatory (EGO) is looking for an experienced System Administrator to assume the responsibility of the MS-Windows cluster at Cascina. **Activities** He/She will participate in the management of the MS-Windows VDI clients in the Citrix Virtual Xenapp&Desktop; environment, in the management of the Audio/video conferencing systems on-site and in the management of the related hardware. He/She will participate in supporting users in the applicable areas. **Essential skills**
- High school diploma in technical or scientific fields;
- hands-on experience in system administration of MS-Windows servers in a clustered Active Directory Domain environment;
- Knowlegde of English **Other desired skills** One or more of the following will be an asset: - Bachelor’s degree in technical or scientific fields;
- experience in Citrix environment (Virtual XenApp&Desktop;, XenServer);
- experience in MS-HyperV virtualization;
- experience in Audio/video facilities for local and remote meetings;
- experience in wireless networking configuration and support;
- experience in MS-PowerShell scripting;
- experience in software development (Microsoft.NET, Python,) in MS-Windows environment;
- experience in Office 365 centralized management and migration to cloud at an entrerprise level;
**Work Context** EGO is an international consortium, founded by INFN and CNRS to foster European collaboration in gravitational-wave research. EGO is located in Cascina, near Pisa - Italy, and hosts and operates the gravitational-wave detector Virgo, a 3 km-long laser interferometer (ITF). The Virgo project involves the participation of about 130 institutions with more than 800 scientists, engineers and technicians from France, Italy, the Netherlands and other 13 European countries. **Selection procedure** The EGO Consortium has the free right not to proceed with the recruitment. **Privacy policy** Under Article 13 of UE Regulation (EU) 2016/79 of the European Parliament and of the Council, required personal data will be exclusively collected and treated for purposes strictly connected to the selection procedure also with the use of computerized procedures, according to current law and regulations concerning the implementation of this kind of activity.
