Innovation Engineering develops leading edge technologies to enhance the competitiveness of our products and to support the new products introduction. The Welding and NDE team, within the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Organization, is accountable for New Technology Development,
through planning and preparation activities combining practical welding work with higher-level technical duties including final industrialization on shop plants.
As a Welding & Material Science Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Developing welding/brazing, heat treatment techniques, procedures, and application of welding equipment to problems involving fabrication of metals, utilizing knowledge of production specifications, properties and characteristics of metals and metal alloys, and engineering principles.
- Conducting research and development investigations to develop and test new fabrication processes and procedures, improve existing or develop new welding equipment, develop new or modify current welding methods, techniques, and procedures, discover new patterns of material and welding phenomena, or to correlate and substantiate hypotheses.
- Developing FEM analysis on welding and thermal processes
